Viral video exposes Rs 48 lakh bridge as railing comes off with one push
Villagers have alleged that the bridge was constructed using substandard materials and have demanded a thorough investigation into the work.

A bridge reportedly built at a cost of nearly Rs 48 lakh in Maharashtra has landed in controversy after a viral video showed its railing allegedly breaking off with little more than a gentle push.
The clip has fuelled allegations of poor-quality construction and prompted villagers to demand an investigation into how such a project cleared quality checks despite the expenditure.
The bridge is located in Bankaranja village in Beed district. According to residents, the construction was carried out using substandard materials, making the structure unsafe.
The video, which has gone viral on social media, shows local resident Durgadas Lamb pushing the bridge railing with his foot.
Moments later, the railing appears to detach with ease, raising serious questions over the quality of the work and the materials used.
Villagers say the railing can be broken with even a light push by hand or foot, claiming it reflects the poor standards followed during construction.
VILLAGERS SEEK PROBE
After the video surfaced, Lamb demanded an impartial inquiry into the construction. He urged the Beed District Collector to investigate the project and take strict action against the contractor as well as the engineers responsible for supervising the work.
"The quality of the bridge should be examined thoroughly and those responsible must face action," he said while exposing the alleged defects in the viral video.
QUESTIONS OVER QUALITY OF PUBLIC WORKS
The bridge falls under the assembly constituency of Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Namita Mundada.
The incident has intensified questions over how a project worth nearly Rs 48 lakh could allegedly suffer from such poor construction quality.
No official response has been issued by the administration so far on the allegations raised by villagers.
