Woman gang-raped in Bihar; violated with cartridge, stones and wood
A woman in Begusarai has alleged that five men gang-raped and assaulted her, and doctors later recovered objects from her body during treatment. The case has triggered a high-level police investigation, with forensic reports still awaited.

Police in Bihar's Begusarai district have launched a high-level investigation after a woman alleged that five men gang-raped and assaulted her, with doctors later recovering a cartridge-like object, a stone and a piece of wood from her body during treatment days after the incident.
According to the woman's complaint, the incident took place on the night of June 11 when she stepped out of her house to use the toilet. She alleged that five men approached, overpowered and dragged her away to a secluded area. The woman claimed that the accused tied her hands and legs, assaulted her and then took turns raping her.
She further alleged that the attackers inflicted injuries on various parts of her body with a sharp object before abandoning her. Family members later rushed her to a hospital, where she received treatment and was discharged on June 12.
However, the woman said she continued to suffer severe pain even after returning home. On June 17, she was taken back to the district hospital, where further medical examinations, including an ultrasound, were conducted. According to the victim and police officials, doctors subsequently recovered a cartridge-like object, a stone and a piece of wood during treatment.
WOMAN ALLEGES POLICE INACTION
The woman alleged that despite informing the police immediately after the incident, no significant action was taken. She also claimed that some of the accused had previously entered her house about three months ago, assaulted her and attempted to sexually assault her. A case had reportedly been registered in that matter as well.
The developments prompted senior police officials to visit the hospital and record the victim's statement again. Teams led by senior officers have been assigned to investigate the case.
Begusarai Sadar DSP Anand Kumar Pandey said the investigation was being conducted from all angles using scientific methods. He confirmed that objects had been recovered during medical treatment and said the victim's allegations appeared credible at this stage of the inquiry.
Police said the victim had named several suspects from her village, and the investigation is underway. After she complained of persistent pain, a fresh medical examination was conducted. Officials are awaiting the latest medical report and said no arrests have been made yet, though raids are underway. Authorities are also examining claims regarding an earlier case filed by the woman.
The investigation is ongoing, and police are awaiting further medical and forensic reports.
