Slab of under-construction bridge over Ganga collapses in Bihar, four hospitalised
A slab of an under-construction bridge over the Ganga in Samastipur collapsed on Saturday, injuring four workers. The injured men were taken to hospital as police awaited further details about the incident.

A slab of a bridge under construction over the Ganga River in Bihar's Samastipur district collapsed on Saturday, injuring four workers, police said.
The injured workers have been taken to a hospital for treatment, according to the police.
Further details about the incident are awaited.
The latest bridge collapse comes months after a slab of the Vikramshila Setu in Bihar's Bhagalpur collapsed, disrupting connectivity between south Bihar and the Seemanchal region.
Following that incident, the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) connected the damaged sections of the bridge using a temporary Bailey bridge. It is also constructing two more temporary Bailey bridges on the damaged stretch.
The BRO completed the installation of a 50-metre-long and five-metre-wide girder across the damaged portion of the Vikramshila Setu, reconnecting the two separated sections and paving the way for the restoration of limited traffic movement.
The Vikramshila Setu, a key bridge over the Ganga River in Bihar, was damaged on May 4 after a Reinforced Cement Concrete (RCC) slab collapsed. The incident brought traffic to a complete halt, severely affecting connectivity between Bhagalpur and districts in north Bihar.
