He added, “People used to say that this government never accepted resignations, but today we have shown that with enough determination, even the impossible can be made possible.”
Dipke further said, "Kaha jaata tha iss sarkar main istife nahi hote. Jhukti hai duniya, jhukaane vaala chahiye, (People used to say that resignations don't happen in this government. "There's no need to be afraid. This is democracy. He has resigned, but we have two more demands. We won't go like this. Dharmendra Pradhan has resigned. But the families of the children who committed suicide should receive compensation of one crore rupees. They should get it. One crore rupees compensation to all those families. And second, these police goons who acted on the 20th. Action must be taken against the police officers for that," he said.
CJP spokespersons Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das were also present at the Jantar Mantar protest site when news broke. Reacting to it, Ranka reiterated the party’s broader objective of reforming the education sector, saying the movement was aimed at “bettering the entire Indian education system”.
Das, meanwhile, struck a defiant note, warning against disregarding the concerns of students and young people. “Do not mess with the younger generation,” he said.
CJP leadership also said the party had placed three key demands before the government and would withdraw the protest only after receiving a written assurance. Ranka said permission had been sought for a peaceful nationwide candle march at 6 pm.
“If you accept our three demands in writing, we will go home. We have requested permission to take out a peaceful candle march across the country,” Ranka said, adding that the party aimed to “better the entire Indian education system”.
Das said the government had invited the party for another round of talks at 3.30 pm, but maintained that demonstrators would not leave the protest site until all demands were accepted in writing. “We’re not going anywhere until all our demands are met and they give them in writing. This is a huge victory,” he said.
In an emotional moment during his speech, Dipke recalled the names of students who died by suicide following the NEET paper leak controversy and appealed to those present to observe a two-minute silence in their memory.
