Say bye to tuke-tukde alliance: Kiren Rijiju welcomes 7 defected AAP MPs
The Union Minister said that he never saw these MPs resorting to abusive language or creating indiscipline inside the Parliament while welcoming them through a post on X.

Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, on Monday welcomed the seven defected Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MPs, who severed their ties and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party recently. While welcoming, Rijiju took a jibe at the INDIA alliance that the seven MPs were part of for a brief period of time.
Through a post on X, the Union Minister wrote, “Welcome to nation building NDA under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister @narendramodi ji and goodbye to Tukde-Tukde INDI Alliance.”
The BJP leader also praised the seven MPs for not creating any indiscipline or using abusive language during the parliamentary procedure.
“For a long time, I've observed that these 7 Hon'ble MPs have not resorted to abusive language and never created any indiscipline and unparliamentary conduct,” Rijiju mentioned.
On Saturday, Raghav Chaddha, along with Sandeep Pathak, Ashok Mittal, Harbhajan Singh, Swati Maliwal, Rajinder Gupta, and Vikramjit Singh Sahney, ended their ties with the Aam Aadmi Party and switched to the BJP, marking a significant political realignment in the Rajya Sabha.
Chadha, who had a rift with the Aam Aadmi Party since his removal from the party’s Deputy Leader role in the Rajya Sabha, said that the party deviated from the principles it believed in.
“The AAP, which I nurtured with my blood and sweat, and gave 15 years of my youth to, has deviated from its principles, values and core morals. Now, this party does not work in the interest of the nation but for its personal benefits...For the past few years, I could feel that I was the right man in the wrong party. So, today, we announce that I am distancing myself from the AAP and getting closer to the public," Chadha said.
CHADHA’S TOXIC WORKPLACE JIBE
On Wednesday, the 37-year-old MP again lashed out at the Aam Aadmi Party over its alleged deviation from old principles and ideology.
In a candid video shared on Instagram, Chadha was heard saying, “Today, this party is no longer the old party. Today, this party has a toxic work environment. You are stopped from working. You are stopped from speaking in Parliament.”
The clarification came as Chadha was flooded with queries over the decision to leave AAP. He finally broke his silence and defended the decision that he had taken.
