Madhya Pradesh Congress to launch statewide stir over corruption, farmers, students
The Madhya Pradesh Congress has announced a statewide campaign on students, farmers and alleged corruption. The push adds pressure on the BJP government with protests, a graft portal and demands for accountability.

The Madhya Pradesh Congress on Sunday said it will launch a mass movement on issues affecting students, youth, farmers and citizens, saying the aim is to ensure government accountability and fight corruption and scams in the state. Party leader Shobha Oza said the campaign would raise concerns ranging from the education system and farmers' problems to alleged irregularities linked to land and religious institutions.
As part of its ongoing 'Chhatron ki Goonj' campaign, the party will visit universities and colleges across Madhya Pradesh to demand transparency and accountability in the education system, and action against those found guilty, Oza, former All India Mahila Congress president, told reporters. She also said the party would start a digital portal and helpline for people to report alleged corruption and related wrongdoing.
Oza alleged that the BJP government had turned "even God and spirituality into a means of profiteering", referring to the collapse of idols at Mahakal Lok during strong winds and rain. She said the Lokayukta probe and the Comptroller and Auditor General's observations had confirmed poor quality construction work and misuse of public funds, and asked what action had been taken against those responsible. Referring to the alleged embezzlement of donations at Ayodhya's Ram Temple, she said it had deeply hurt the faith of millions of Sanatanis and devotees across the country. "The Congress firmly believes any allegation of misappropriation of even a rupee in any sacred institution must be investigated impartially and transparently," she said.
She also referred to the alleged Ujjain land scam and asked whether Chief Minister Mohan Yadav would respond to the allegations or order an independent and impartial inquiry. Oza asked why the government was not making public the list of beneficiaries who allegedly received prime land at a nominal rate of Re 1. Raising farmers' issues, she said, "Why has the government failed to provide farmers with DAP, urea, adequate electricity, and other inputs on time and what action has the government taken so far to stop fertiliser black marketing?"
On the proposed digital portal, Oza said any citizen, government employee or whistleblower would be able to confidentially share documents, audio or video related to corruption, commission-taking, illegal occupation of government land and benami properties. After scrutiny, she said, the facts would be placed before the public and the court. She also announced a 'Gen Z Cyclothon' from Indore to Bhopal on July 14 and 15 for the rights of youth and students.
Oza said, "CM Yadav will be publicly questioned in each district he visits on various issues. On July 15, the party will gherao the Chief Minister's residence (CM House) in Bhopal, while in the last week of July, a massive public protest and rally will be held against the land scam in Ujjain." She added that the BJP government would be cornered on these issues during the upcoming Assembly session, as the Congress steps up its campaign on students' rights, farmers' concerns and alleged corruption.
