The accident took place on National Highway 27 when the pickup vehicle, loaded with mangoes, reportedly lost control and overturned.

According to police, 40-year-old Ajay Paswan was transporting mangoes from West Bengal to Muzaffarpur along with his wife, Santara Devi, when the accident occurred. Both sustained severe injuries in the crash.

However, instead of rushing to assist the injured couple, people gathered at the spot and began collecting and carrying away mangoes that had spilled onto the road while the victims lay unattended.

It was only after police arrived at the scene that the injured couple was shifted to a hospital. Ajay Paswan later succumbed to his injuries during treatment, while Santara Devi remains in critical condition and is undergoing treatment.
