The incident is over a year old but came to light only recently after the woman informed her husband about it and filed a police complaint on June 13. According to police, the survivor remained silent out of fear because she was married, but eventually gathered the courage to confide in her husband.

Police have arrested Madare and Ameen Sheikh (30), while a hunt is underway for the third accused, Hazrat Maulana, a resident of Tamia in Madhya Pradesh.

According to police, the 24-year-old complainant's husband serves in the Indian Air Force and is currently posted in another city. The woman works in property dealing.

The woman further alleged that she was pressured to adopt Islam and was made to undergo various activities in the name of religious rituals.

She also claimed that later in May, the accused took her to Kalmeshwar in Nagpur, where she was introduced to Ameen Sheikh and Hazrat Maulana.

According to the complaint, the three took her to a secluded location, conducted certain religious rituals and claimed that her religious conversion had been completed as seen in the above video. She was allegedly informed that she had been married to Madare. She has also claimed that another attempt was made to rape her thereafter.
