NEET paper leak a grave sin, can't happen again: PM Modi as protests rage

To safeguard the future of aspirants, the government decided to conduct a NEET re-examination, which was successfully held, with the results declared on schedule.
Rijiju said the government's prompt action was aimed at ensuring such incidents do not recur. Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's remarks, he said the Prime Minister had called for the strictest possible punishment for those involved in the paper leak, stressing that strong action against the accused would help deter future leaks and protect the integrity of public examinations.

As the Supreme Court prepares to hear a batch of petitions in the NEET-UG paper leak case, petitioners have sought the dissolution of the National Testing Agency (NTA) and a CBI investigation into the alleged leak. However, the declaration of the re-examination results sparked fresh controversy, with candidates from Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh alleging score discrepancies and OMR sheet mismatches.
While students demanded investigations into their results, the NTA rejected the allegations, saying its evaluation process was secure, warning against fake and AI-generated OMR sheets, and issuing case-specific clarifications dismissing claims of OMR swaps and score manipulation.
