Video: Massive fire breaks out at Ghaziabad society, fire tenders rush to spot
The incident occurred in the densely populated Indirapuram locality, raising concerns among residents as emergency teams work to bring the situation under control.

A major fire broke out in a residential flat at Gaur Green Avenue society in the Abhay Khand area of Indirapuram, Ghaziabad, on Wednesday morning, triggering panic among residents.
The blaze, reported around 8.30 am, spread across multiple flats on the upper floors, with thick smoke seen billowing from the building.
Fire department teams rushed to the spot, deploying over 17 fire tenders along with hydraulic equipment to contain the flames.
FIRE CONTAINED, FLATS DAMAGED
Ghaziabad Chief Fire Officer Rahul Pal said there were no casualties and all those trapped were safely evacuated. He said the fire affected around five to six flats between the ninth and eleventh floors, adding that some of the units were locked while others were occupied.
“The fire has been completely controlled. Some flats were empty, while others have suffered partial damage,” Kumar said, confirming that the situation is now under control.
A resident of the society, Rohit, claimed that around 10 to 12 flats were gutted in the blaze and suggested a possible electrical issue, though officials have not confirmed the cause.
CAUSE UNDER PROBE
Officials said the fire is believed to have originated on the ninth floor, but the exact cause will be determined after a detailed investigation.
Preliminary inputs indicate that at least eight flats have suffered damage. Authorities said a thorough inspection will be conducted once cooling operations are completed to rule out any remaining risks.
Firefighting efforts were briefly hampered due to low water pressure, reportedly caused by a boundary wall near a park restricting access.
CM TAKES COGNISANCE
Meanwhile, in Lucknow, an official statement said Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken cognisance of the incident and directed the Ghaziabad police commissioner and the district magistrate to remain present at the spot and supervise relief operations.
