Weather Forecast Today: IMD issues orange alert for four Kerala districts; Karnataka and Tamil Nadu to receive heavy rains

Tamil Nadu is likely to receive heavy rainfall for the next four days, reported the Indian Express. Chennai is likely to witness cloudy skies and light rain along with thunderstorms have been predicted for the city and the suburbs. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to settle around 34 degrees Celsius and 26 degrees Celsius. Heavy rainfall is likely to lash Erode, Nilgiris and Coimbatore districts today. The southern part of the state may receive light to moderate rains at a few places today, the report stated.

According to a report published in the Indian Express, the weather office has issued a yellow alert for Bengaluru for the next few days. The city is expected to witness an intense spell of rain over the next few days and heavy rainfall has also been predicted for Karnataka.

According to the IMD, Kerala is likely to receive heavy rainfall today. An orange alert has been sounded for Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode and Wayanad districts and a heavy rainfall warning has been issued.The cyclonic effect will continue to remain in the Arabian Sea for the next three days. Fishermen have been advised not to venture out in the sea on Thursday and Friday.

According to news agency ANI, several areas in Bengaluru were flooded after heavy rainfall in the city. BTM Layout, HSR Layout, Anugraha Layout, and Madiwala localities were submerged in water due to the overflowing of Madiwala lake.
