IMD predicts warm days ahead for Delhi as monsoon retreats

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that the national capital is likely to witness warm days ahead as monsoon retreats. Over the next seven days, the maximum temperature in the national capital is likely to hover around 35 and 36 degrees Celsius with the minimum ranging from 24 to 26 degrees Celsius.

Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan regions to receive heavy rainfall

The weather department has warned of heavy rainfall in Madhya Maharashtra and Konkan regions till October 8. The IMD said the ghat areas are expected to receive heavy rainfall accompanied by lightning and thunder. On Tuesday, ghat areas of Pune areas such as Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Kolhapur and Satara received heavy rains. Anupam Kashyapi, head of weather forecasting at IMD Pune, was quoted by TOI as saying that the upcoming rains would be of convective nature and these are not typical monsoon season type of showers.
