Weather Forecast Today: Heavy rainfall predicted for Andaman and Nicobar Islands; withdrawal of southwest monsoon begins

According to the weather department, rainfall has been predicted for the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and its adjoining areas. Southern states such as Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharahtra, Vidarbha, coastal Odisha, Lakshadweep and West Bengal are expected to receive light rainfall today.

The national capital is expected to witness warm days and the conditions will be favourable for the withdrawal of the southwest monsoon over the next few days. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to settle around 35 degrees Celsius and 23 degrees Celsius, respectively. According to a report published in The Indian Express, there is a prediction for clear skies for today. Delhi has witnessed two days of light rainfall in October so far.

The IMD in its bulletin said that a low pressure area is very likely to form in north Andaman Sea around October 10. It can move west northwestwards towards south Odisha and north Andhra Pradesh during the next four to five days.

According to the weather agency, Kerala is expected to receive heavy rainfall in isolated places on Friday and a yellow alert has been sounded for Kollam and Alappuzha districts. The state may witness isolated heavy rainfall for the next few days and no restrictions have been imposed for fishing along the sea coasts.
