Weather Forecast Today: IMD predicts heavy rainfall for Madhya Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh; Kerala and Karnataka on alert

Heavy rainfall has been predicted for south coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and Madhya Maharashtra today. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall for Kerala, Mahe and coastal Karnataka from October 11 to October 13. These states likely to receive heavy rainfall today

The weather department has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Rayalaseema and Kerala and Mahe have also been warned of heavy rainfall on Saturday.

As per the IMD, thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and squalls ( speeds reaching 50-60 kmph) are very likely at isolated places over Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Lightning has been predicted for Odisha, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathawada, interior Karnataka, Kerala, Mahe, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu and other districts.

According to the weather agency, Kerala is expected to receive heavy rainfall in isolated places on Saturday and a yellow alert has been sounded for Alappuzha and Pathanamthitta districts. The state may witness isolated heavy rainfall for the next few days and no restrictions have been imposed for fishing along the sea coasts.
