SC stays Madras HC order banning cow slaughter in Tamil Nadu on state's plea

The Tamil Nadu government challenged the High Court's order, arguing that the law allows for regulated slaughter of animals and that a complete ban would affect farmers, trade, commerce, and the leather industry. The Supreme Court has issued a notice on the state government's petition and scheduled the matter for a hearing after six weeks.
