Video: Bus catches fire on Tamil Nadu highway, driver's alertness saves everyone

A moving sleeper coach bus caught fire on a highway in Tamil Nadu's Perambalur district early Saturday. While no one was injured, the vehicle was left completely charred. The incident took place while the private bus was reportedly on its way from Chennai to Madurai. According to news agency ANI, the driver stopped the bus immediately upon becoming aware of the distressing situation onboard. The presence of mind resulted in everyone being evacuated safely. Fire service reached the scene upon receiving information and successfully extinguished the blaze. Police have registered a case and a probe has been initiated to ascertain the cause of the fire.
