The Ahmedabad Cyber Crime Cell cops have busted a major cybersecurity fraud linked to the NEET portal, arresting a 19-year-old accused, Navin Yadav, from Gaya, Bihar. The accused allegedly targeted over 350 NEET aspirants by using brute force techniques to crack weak passwords and gain unauthorised access to candidate accounts. He modified bank details to divert fee refunds of seventeen hundred rupees per student into his own bank account, affecting around 150 students. Following details shared by the National Testing Agency, the accused was tracked down. Consequently, the NTA has strengthened portal security measures, including implementing two-factor authentication to protect student data.
