In an exclusive interview with India Today's Manjeet Negi, BrahMos Aerospace Chief Executive Officer Dr Jaiteerth Joshi detailed the operational success and modernization roadmap of the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile following Operation Sindoor. Highlighting its deployment, Dr Joshi noted that the Indian Air Force fired the missile from Sukhoi-30 fighter jets during the May 2025 conflict to destroy crucial infrastructure and ground positions of the adversary. Emphasising its pinpoint precision and capability to evade radar and air defence systems, he described BrahMos as emerging as a 'net security provider' and serving as a supersonic cruise missile triad across the tri-services. He confirmed ongoing efforts towards achieving complete indigenisation through domestic technologies. Additionally, Dr Joshi outlined developments regarding the next-generation BrahMos-NG variant, explaining that the lighter missile will enable fighter aircraft to carry multiple units mounted on wings rather than a single belly-carried missile.
