In a dramatic scene from Bihar’s Supaul district, a farmer walked into Bhimnagar police station carrying a crocodile on his shoulder after spotting it in a paddy field. The reptile’s sudden appearance created panic among farmers, but villagers safely subdued it and tied its snout with a rope without causing harm.
Farmer Amit Kumar said he first took the crocodile to the Forest Department office at Kataiya, but finding no staff there, he carried it to the police station on foot. The unusual sight drew crowds along the route, with many people recording videos on their mobile phones.
Police informed the Forest Department, which took custody of the crocodile and later released it into the Kosi River. Forester Ravi Ranjan said the five-foot-long crocodile was healthy and had likely strayed into the area due to rising monsoon water levels.
