Made three demands, ministers responded positively to two: CJP after meet with govt

During a second round of talks following ongoing demonstrations at Jantar Mantar over the NEET examination controversy, Sourav Das and Ashutosh Ranka – representatives of the Cockroach Janta Party – held discussions with Union Ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh. The delegation presented three primary demands: the removal or resignation of the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, financial compensation of Rs 1 crore each for families of candidates who died by suicide, and the complete withdrawal of eleven registered police FIRs along with a sovereign guarantee against any future action against peaceful protesters or organisers.

While the government expressed a positive stance and in-principle agreement regarding the financial compensation, withdrawal of legal cases, and assurances against improper detention of youth by the police, it requested a 24-hour period to deliberate on the demand for the Union Education Minister's removal.

The party leadership stated that demonstrations across the country will intensify further and lead to a national call for agitation if the demand for resignation is not met within the stipulated timeline.
