The Opposition staged a street theatre-style protest outside Parliament on Friday over the alleged theft of donations meant for the Ram Temple, seeking to corner the BJP-led NDA government on the issue.
As part of the performance, Congress MP from Bihar's Purnia, Pappu Yadav, dressed as a Hindu ascetic, was seen enacting a scene with a female devotee, played by a Samajwadi Party MP. In the skit, the devotee offered money in the name of the temple, but the ascetic pocketed the donation, saying, "Theft is in our blood."
Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi also briefly joined the performance, symbolically placing a donation in a donation box kept at the protest site. Moments later, Yadav's character picked up the donation box and walked away with it, drawing cheers and laughter from Opposition MPs gathered behind him.
