This exhibition revisits the remarkable visual record created by Emily Eden during her travels through India in the late 1830s. Featuring a complete set of lithographs from Portraits of the Princes and People of India alongside letters, sketchbooks and archival materials, the show offers a fascinating glimpse into the Punjab of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, while reflecting on the complexities of colonial observation and representation.
SOHRAB HURA: A WINTER SUMMER

Bringing together four significant bodies of work, the exhibition surveys nearly two decades of Sohrab Hura’s engagement with landscape, labour, memory and social realities. From the snow-covered terrains of Kashmir to the parched villages of Madhya Pradesh, it examines how place, politics and lived experience intersect, revealing the contradictions and inequalities often concealed beneath nationhood and belonging.

Occupying the entirety of the Hayward Gallery, this major exhibition surveys the immersive and monumental practice of Anish Kapoor. Alongside iconic mirror sculptures and works employing Vantablack, the exhibition introduces recent paintings, sculptures and large-scale installations that challenge perception and spatial awareness. Marking the Southbank Centre’s 75th anniversary, the show reaffirms Kapoor’s notable influence on contemporary sculpture and installation art.

Celebrating more than a century of Marathi cinema, Marathi Chitrapat: Stories and Stardom traces the evolution of one of India’s most influential film industries through archival photographs, posters, publications and memorabilia. Curated by Neha Kamat, the exhibition highlights legendary actors, filmmakers and photographers, while exploring the cultural and visual history that shaped Maharashtra’s cinema-tic identity.
