Ahmed Khan shares real reason behind Sanjay Dutt exiting Welcome To The Jungle
Director Ahmed Khan opened up on the reason behind actor Sanjay Dutt's exit from Welcome To The Jungle. He said Dutt stayed supportive and helped reorganise the casting of the film.

Director Ahmed Khan has said actor Sanjay Dutt left Welcome To The Jungle because of scheduling issues and a trip to the US for medical treatment, rejecting suggestions of any tension between the actor and the film's team. Khan said the production had already shot a few scenes with Dutt before he stepped away from the project.
Khan, in an interview with News18, emphasised that Dutt was excited to join the film because many of his friends were part of the cast. "Sanju Baba loved the script, and he really wanted to be a part of the film. Film mein itne saare friends the unke (Quite a few of his friends were working on the film) – Jaggu Dada (Jackie Shroff), Akshay Kumar, etc. He was thrilled. We shot a part of the film with him. But he had date issues. He had to go to the US. He went there for his treatment, and I couldn't shift the dates of so many actors," Khan said.
Khan revealed that after Dutt left the film, the actor personally got involved in helping the makers fill the role. According to the director, Dutt called Suniel Shetty and asked him to take up the character that had been meant for him, and then requested Jackie Shroff to play the role that had initially been set aside for Shetty.
"He graciously called Suniel Shetty and told him to play the character that he was supposed to play and requested Jackie Shroff to play the role that Suniel Shetty was initially set to play. He set up a solution to his unavailability. We'll always remain grateful to baba for that," Khan added.
Welcome To The Jungle features an ensemble of more than 30 actors, but several names originally linked to the film, including Sanjay Dutt, Sharib Hashmi, Rahul Dev and singer Mika Singh, were not part of the finished movie.
Welcome To The Jungle features actors Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Arshad Warsi, Jackie Shroff, Paresh Rawal, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Farida Jalal, Johny Lever, Shreyas Talpade, Tusshar Kapoor and Rajpal Yadav. Despite Dutt's exit after the shoot had begun, the film has crossed the Rs 100 crore mark at the worldwide box office.
Welcome To The Jungle theatrically released on June 26.
