Alpha box office Day 1 prediction: Alia Bhatt's film set for Rs 7-8 crore opening
According to early box office trends Maharashtra has emerged as strongest market for Alpha, contributing Rs 34.76 lakh in advance bookings

The latest instalment in the YRF Spy Universe, Alpha, is all set to hit theatres. The franchise's first female-led spy thriller features actors Alia Bhatt and Sharvari in the lead, with Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol in pivotal roles. However, if early advance booking trends are anything to go by, Alpha is set for a Rs 7-8 crore opening, with Maharashtra emerging as the film's strongest market, contributing Rs 34.76 lakh in advance earnings.

According to early advance booking data from trade website Sacnilk, Alpha has sold tickets worth an estimated Rs 41.05 lakh for its opening day across 10,293 Hindi (2D) shows in India. Including blocked seats, the film's total advance booking collection currently stands at Rs 1.52 crore.

Maharashtra has emerged as the film's strongest market, contributing Rs 34.76 lakh in advance bookings, including blocked seats. Delhi follows closely with Rs 34.35 lakh, while Gujarat has recorded Rs 10.66 lakh, making it one of the key contributors to the film's pre-release business.

Based on current trends and early estimates by Sacnilk, Alpha is expected to open in the Rs 7–8 crore nett range at the Indian box office. However, comparing its performance with male superstar-led blockbusters such as Ek Tha Tiger, War and Pathaan may not be entirely fair, given the difference in scale and star power.

Alia's previous theatrical release, Jigra, had opened at Rs 4.55 crore, while her 2018 spy thriller Raazi opened at over Rs 7 crore. The final trade estimates are yet to determine the film's box office fate.

Directed by debutant Shiv Rawail, son of veteran filmmaker Rahul Rawail, Alpha is set to arrive in cinemas on July 3. The film is produced by Yash Raj Films and also features Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor in key roles. With advance ticket sales now underway, the focus will shift to audience response when the film opens in theatres later this week.
