Following the Delhi High Court's decision to adjourn the hearing on Salman Khan's plea against Kala Hiran: The Battle for Legacy, the film's producer, Amit Jani, reacted on X. Claiming that the actor had not received any interim relief from the court, Jani expressed confidence that the film would release as planned.

Jani’s post on X, fairly translated to English, read, “Salman Khan still hasn't received relief from the Delhi High Court today; no ban on the film, hearing of the case adjourned till July 6. I had said earlier too that for the court, there is no star nor do they acknowledge any glamour, just by calling oneself the father of Bollywood, the blackbuck won't stop—this will release in 8000 cinema halls and simultaneously across the whole world (sic).”

Actor Salman Khan's plea against the makers of the upcoming film Kala Hiran came up for hearing before the Delhi High Court on Friday. The matter has now been deferred to Monday after the filmmakers assured the court that neither the film nor its trailer would be released before then. During the hearing, counsel for the filmmakers informed the court that only a teaser of the film has been released so far.

Kala Hiran case hearing

During Wednesday's hearing, counsel representing the film's producers informed Justice Jyoti Singh that Kala Hiran: The Battle for Legacy has not yet been submitted to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) for certification.

When the court sought clarification on the film's release, the producers' counsel said no release had been scheduled. The counsel also pointed out that the film cannot be released without CBFC certification and assured the court that it would not be submitted to the censor board before the next date of hearing.

Taking note of the submission, as well as the fact that the producer's rejoinder was yet to be placed on record, the Delhi High Court adjourned the hearing on Salman Khan's plea seeking interim relief till July 6.

Further details of the dispute are expected to emerge when the matter is heard next week.

All about the case

Salman approached the Delhi high court against the makers of Kala Hiran: The Battle for Legacy, alleging that the film is based on his ongoing blackbuck poaching case. The case sought an immediate halt to the film's release and demanded the removal of all posters and promotional material associated with the project.

On June 2, Jani, reacted to the legal notice by Salman's team and denied the superstar's claims, saying that the film is based solely on information available in the public domain and focusses on the Bishnoi community's struggle to protect wildlife.

Speaking exclusively to India Today, Jani said the notice was premature and maintained that the film is "not a biopic on Salman Khan." Calling the legal action "unnecessary", the producer added that apart from a poster, nothing about the film has been revealed so far.
