Welcome To The Jungle box office Day 5: Film beats 2007 original's lifetime haul

Akshay Kumar's Welcome To The Jungle has achieved a major box office milestone within just five days of its release. The third installment in the Welcome franchise has surpassed the lifetime worldwide gross collection of the 2007 original Welcome, continuing its strong theatrical run despite mixed reviews.

According to the trade website Sacnilk, Welcome To The Jungle collected Rs 9.25 crore nett on Day 5 across 10,616 shows. This took its total India nett collection to Rs 81.50 crore, while the India gross stands at Rs 97.17 crore.

The film also maintained a steady performance overseas, collecting Rs 3 crore gross on its fifth day. Its total overseas earnings have now reached 22.95 crore, taking the worldwide gross collection to Rs 120.12 crore.

With this, Welcome To The Jungle has overtaken the lifetime worldwide gross of the original Welcome, which had collected Rs 117.91 crore globally during its theatrical run. The 2007 comedy had also earned Rs 70.15 crore nett in India over its entire run.

The film began its box office journey with paid previews on Thursday (June 25), collecting Rs 3.75 crore nett across 2,494 shows with an occupancy of 26 per cent. It followed this with a strong opening day on Friday, earning Rs 15.25 crore nett from 10,892 shows while maintaining the same occupancy.

Collections witnessed significant growth over the weekend. The comedy earned Rs 20 crore nett on Saturday as occupancy rose to 33 per cent. Sunday emerged as its biggest day so far, with Rs 24.75 crore nett and an occupancy of 41 per cent.

The film remained steady on its first Monday, collecting Rs 8.50 crore nett across 10,922 shows on Day 4. With this, its total India nett collections reached Rs 72.25 crore, while the India gross stood at Rs 86.53 crore. It also earned Rs 3 crore overseas on Monday, taking its total overseas gross to Rs 19.95 crore. Combined with its domestic earnings, Welcome To The Jungle amassed a worldwide gross collection of Rs 106.48 crore in just four days.

Directed by Ahmed Khan, Welcome To The Jungle is the third film in the popular Welcome franchise. The story follows a gangsters, criminals and bold characters whose lives collide in a jungle near the border. What begins as an operation resembling a film shoot soon turns into a chaotic adventure filled with crime, comedy, confusion and action.

The film hit theatres on June 26, 2026. In its review, India Today wrote, "Nearly two decades later, the painting returns in Welcome to the Jungle, and it is safe to assume that the legacy of that ridiculous painting has aged better than the franchise itself. While Welcome trusted its writing, Welcome to the Jungle trusts its cast list."

The ensemble cast features Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Arshad Warsi, Jackie Shroff, Paresh Rawal, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Farida Jalal, Johny Lever, Shreyas Talpade, Tusshar Kapoor and Rajpal Yadav, among others.
