Writer and actor Somy Ali extended her best wishes to Aamir Khan and Gauri Spratt ahead of their wedding. Sharing a heartfelt note on Instagram, she celebrated the couple's decision to embrace love, regardless of age.

Actor Aamir Khan and his partner, Gauri Spratt have decided against hosting a grand reception, choosing instead to keep the celebrations limited to close family and friends.

Aamir and Gauri will register their marriage under the Special Marriage Act, following which they will celebrate the occasion with a private gathering at home. Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Aamir said the couple deliberately opted for a low-key wedding and had no plans to host a lavish celebration.

In Aamir's own words, he has found peace with Gauri, and perhaps that's what makes this new chapter so meaningful. Their intimate wedding on July 5 reflects the simple belief that it's never too late to find companionship. If you've followed Aamir's journey over the years, this decision feels less surprising and more like the natural next step.

Gauri Spratt was born and raised in Bengaluru and has largely kept a low profile despite recently finding herself in the national spotlight. She is the daughter of Rita Spratt, a former salon owner, and works in the wellness industry.

Gauri is also a mother to seven-year-old Quinn from her previous marriage. Her family has a notable place in history as well – she is the granddaughter of Philip Spratt, the British-born communist who arrived in India in the 1920s and later became associated with the country's freedom movement.

Aamir's old friend, filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker and Raj Kumar Santoshi, who has also helmed his production Batwara are expected to be at the wedding," the source added.

Ahead of his intimate wedding, Aamir Khan, during a media interaction at Pritam and Pedro's promotional event, requested fans to keep the couple in their prayers as they embark on a new journey together.

Sharing that the celebrations would be a private affair, the actor revealed that only family members and a handful of close friends, including childhood companions, would be present. "Please give us your blessings and pray that we stay happy and have a wonderful journey together," he said.

Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Aamir said the couple has no plans for a grand celebration and instead wants the occasion to be a private affair.

"It will be a very simple registered marriage at home, with just both the families and really close friends. We both want to keep it very basic," the 61-year-old actor said.
