Veteran actor Rakhee Gulzar has welcomed Aamir Khan’s decision to marry his partner, Gauri Spratt, and dismissed criticism over his age. Aamir Khan and Spratt are set to marry on July 5, 2026, in what will be the actor’s third marriage.

Reacting to the news, Rakhee told Variety India that she was happy for Khan and admired the way he has remained friends with his former wives, Reena Dutta and Kiran Rao.

She said, “I am not in touch with the goings-on in the film industry, nor have I worked with Aamir Khan. But I do know he is a very sincere person. And I love the way he has maintained his friendship with his two wives (Reena Dutta and Kiran Rao) even after the marriage. It says a lot about him.”

Rakhee dismissed criticism of Khan's decision to remarry at 60, arguing that age has little to do with happiness or companionship. "What is wrong with marrying at 60?" she asked, pointing to actor Robert De Niro as an example. Rakhee said that De Niro, who welcomed a daughter with partner Tiffany Chen in 2023, became a father again in his 80s. She added that a successful marriage is not determined by age and reflected on her own life, saying she married Gulzar when he was nearly 40.
