Actor Celina Jaitly has hit back at fresh defamation threats from her husband Peter Haag and father-in-law Wolfgang Haag amid an ongoing divorce battle, pointing out the irony that they previously embraced public attention but are now crying defamation. Declaring through her legal counsel that she will not be silenced, Jaitly—who has filed for divorce on the grounds of domestic violence and cruelty — highlighted that publicity involving the family was earlier actively welcomed, including Peter Haag's participation in magazine covers, interviews, and articles featuring her and their children.

In a detailed 10-slide post, the actor added that she has also been stripped of authority over her children despite seeking joint custody. Jaitly revealed that she has received two new legal notices threatening defamation suits from Peter Haag and Wolfgang Haag. She confirmed that her official response has already been submitted through her legal representatives at Karanjawala & Co.

The actor highlighted that she views these new notices as a clear attempt to divert attention from existing police complaints, lookout notices, and documented evidence of violence currently pending before the courts.

Jaitly shared that speaking about her lived experiences and pursuing lawful remedies was not defamation. She also emphasised that publicity involving the family had earlier been actively embraced, including Peter Haag's participation in magazine covers, interviews and articles featuring her and their children.

The actor wrote that it was ironic that when she began speaking about her own experiences, legal battles, concerns as a mother and pursuit of justice, she was met with legal notices instead of answers.

Reiterating that she was seeking joint custody and an amicable divorce, Jaitly wrote, "Consistent efforts are being made to remove me from my role as my children's mother (sic)." She alleged her public appeals arose from concerns about the children being removed from the marital residence and the possibility of them being moved outside the jurisdiction of the Austrian and Indian courts without her knowledge or consent.

The actor added that, as a mother seeking joint custody, it was both her right and responsibility to raise those concerns.

On facing intimidation in a remote Austrian village

Jaitly also claimed she had long felt subjected to pressure, intimidation and attacks on her rights while living in a remote Austrian village, specifically as a woman who had lost both her parents. She highlighted that evidence had been placed before competent authorities and courts across jurisdictions, and added that what appeared to trouble some people was not that she had spoken, but that she had refused to remain silent.

The actor wrote that she had the courage to leave, stand up for herself, seek the return of what she believed was rightfully hers, protect her relationship with her children and pursue justice through lawful means.

In one of the sharper remarks in her post, Jaitly wrote that the image of "a 50-year-old man and his 75-year-old father (recently in his third marriage)" joining forces to issue legal threats against a woman without anyone to turn to "speaks for itself". The actor linked this to what she described as years of abuse and the forced transfer of her premarital assets at the time she sought relief before competent courts.

Concluding her statement, Jaitly wrote, "I will not be intimidated into silence" and said she was fighting with evidence and had full faith in the judicial systems of India and Austria.

About her family and case

Celina married Austrian entrepreneur Peter Haag in 2010. The couple have twin sons, Winston and Viraaj, born in 2012, and another son, Arthur, born in 2017. She has previously spoken about losing her son Shamsher to a heart condition.

In November 2025, Celina approached the Andheri Magistrate Court in Mumbai, alleging domestic violence and cruelty. She sought financial compensation and claimed the abuse began soon after their marriage.
