Actor Priyanka Chopra remembered her father, Ashok Chopra, on his death anniversary with unseen throwback pictures and an emotional message. While reflecting on their timeless bond, Priyanka expressed the deep void she feels when it comes to her father's presence in her life.

Sharing a series of photos with her late father on Instagram, the 43-year-old wrote, "You and I dancing together always. Miss u dad. You’re always here.. in every decision and every moment of life. Love you (sic)."

While reacting to Priyanka's post, her cousin, actor Meera Chopra commented, "Dad talks about him sooo often. He was so kind and full of love with such an infectious laugh. We all miss him too much. (three heart emojis) (sic)." Actors Varun Dhawan and Patralekha also commented with heart emojis.

Ashok Chopra was a physician and surgeon who served in the Indian Army Medical Corps and retired with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He died in Mumbai on June 10, 2013, at the age of 62, after a long battle with terminal cancer that began in 2008. A few months before his death, Priyanka had honoured him with a tattoo.

Speaking earlier during her appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show, Priyanka said, "I was very close to my father. He was my greatest champion, my biggest cheerleader, like the loudest guy in the room. You know if I'd win an award he'd be like, 'Ahh!' (sic)."

On the work front, Priyanka recently featured in Citadel 2, which also features Richard Madden and Stanley Tucci in lead roles. She will also make a comeback to Indian cinema with the upcoming Telugu-language epic fantasy science fiction action-adventure film Varanasi. The film is directed by SS Rajamouli, who co-wrote the screenplay with V Vijayendra Prasad, and is produced by Sri Durga Arts and Showing Business.

Varanasi also features Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran in key roles.
