Farah Khan recalls compliment from Michael Jackson: Still getting goosebumps
Farah Khan recalled meeting Michael Jackson and the compliment he gave her during a recent vlog. She said the brief encounter still gives her goosebumps and remains one of her most cherished memories.
Filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan recently revisited one of the most memorable moments of her life - meeting the late pop icon Michael Jackson. A longtime admirer of the singer, Farah recalled being left speechless when she finally came face-to-face with her idol. In her latest vlog, she shared details of their brief interaction and revealed the compliment from Jackson that has stayed with her ever since.
Farah recently visited dancer and actor Shruti Sinha's home to celebrate the success of her series Campus Beats. Actor Shantanu Maheshwari also appeared in the vlog.
During their conversation, Shruti spoke about her ballet training, prompting Farah to reflect on her admiration for Michael Jackson. Shantanu then pointed out that Farah was among the few Indians who had the opportunity to meet the music legend.
Recalling the encounter, Farah said she had travelled to choreograph a performance featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai and other stars when organisers informed her that Michael Jackson might attend as the chief guest. She remembered being backstage as Shah Rukh's performance was about to begin when she was told that Jackson had arrived.
According to Farah, she immediately rushed to meet the singer, joking that Shah Rukh would still be around later, while the chance to meet Michael Jackson was far too rare to pass up.
She further recalled her interaction with Michael and said, "They took me to his room, and it was completely dark because he didn't like bright lights and all. He was sitting in dim lights, and I am still getting goosebumps telling this. So soft spoken, he asked me, 'What's your name?' and I said Farah Khan. He said, 'such a powerful name', and I then clicked a photo with him standing still, and then later cropped out the sponsors."
Farah said the memory continues to stay with her years later, describing Jackson as soft-spoken and humble despite his global fame.
Earlier this year, when Michael Jackson's biopic was released in theatres and received negative reviews from critics, Farah publicly backed the film.
Sharing a picture of herself with the late singer on Instagram, she criticised the reviews and praised Jaafar Jackson's portrayal of Michael, saying he deserved an Oscar for his performance.
