Apart from his musical achievements, on the work front, Diljit was recently seen in director Imtiaz Ali's love story, Main Vaapas Aaunga, featuring Naseeruddin Shah, Vedang Raina and Sharvari in key roles. India Today, in its review of the film, wrote, "Main Vaapas Aaunga wants to be a conversation between generations - between those who lived through Partition and those who inherited its memories. It wants to explore grief, belonging, identity and reconciliation. These are worthy ambitions. But ambition alone cannot sustain a film."

Diljit is also awaiting the release of his period-drama Panjab 95. The film, directed by Honey Trehan and produced by Ronnie Screwvala's RSVP Movies, is based on slain human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra.
