Actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut seems to be offering an olive branch to her long-time frenemy, Karan Johar. But in true Kangana fashion, the olive branch comes with a side of sharp-edged honesty.

In a recent appearance on an ANI podcast, Kangana said, "I don't think Karan Johar is a bad person. He's just very proudly, he's just superficial, flaky, flashy."

For those living under a rock, Kangana and KJo's saga started on Koffee With Karan, where she dubbed him the "flag-bearer of nepotism" and cheekily cast him as the villain in her autobiography. That little comment sparked a hot debate on insider privilege, groupism and access in Bollywood.

Karan, never one to hold back, fired back, accusing Kangana of playing the victim card. "I am done with Kangana playing the woman and victim card. I am DONE! You cannot be this victim at every given point of time who has a sad story to tell about how you’ve been terrorised by the bad world of the industry leave it," he said in an interview years ago.

While their public spats have not come out in a long time, they have refrained from working together.

In the same podcast, Kangana took a nostalgia trip, recalling a moment with Salman Khan. She was just a young starlet, and Salman saw the star quality in her. "When I was struggling in my very early days, I met Salman through somebody. I was hardly like 16, 17. Gangster (2006) hadn't happened. He met me, and he saw me, and he said, 'she's a Sanjay Leela Bhansali heroine,'" she said.

Now, juggling her political hat with her filmy one, Kangana continues to stir the pot with sharp statements.
