Salman Khan paid an emotional Instagram tribute after the death of his close friend Sushil Kumar. His posts blended grief, humour and memories of a friendship that lasted 42 years.

Salman Khan remembered his long-time friend Sushil Kumar in a series of emotional Instagram posts on Sunday night, calling him a “brother” of 42 years and bidding him a deeply personal farewell.
Sharing a picture with him, Salman wrote, “This guy has been a brother for 42 years – the nicest, kindest, most helpful. Even if he was down and out, he was always smiling, dancing, with no pain or stress in the worst situations.” He recalled how Sushil would reassure others during difficult times, adding, “He used to say, ‘ki farak nai painda, sab theek hoga’ (it doesn’t matter, everything will be fine) (sic).”
In a note that blended grief with humour – reflecting the tone of their friendship - Salman added, “No tears for you, brother, only memories and laughter. My pra died with a smile on his face. Way to go, brother. Koi pehle, koi baad mein all going to go, don’t know when or how, toh kuch kar ke jao (some may go earlier, some later we don’t know when or how, so do something before you leave).”

On the work front
Salman Khan is awaiting the release of his upcoming film Maatrubhumi, directed by Apoorva Lakhia. The project was initially reported to be based on the Galwan Valley clash, though recent reports suggest changes to the title and storyline, with references to China and the conflict removed. The film, which was earlier slated for an April 21 release, has been postponed, with a new date yet to be announced.
Salman was last seen a cameo in a Raja Shivaji, the Marathi film released in theatres on April 1. Directed by Riteish Deshmukh, the film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Genelia Deshmukh, Mahesh Manjrekar, Sachin Khedekar, Bhagyashree, Fardeen Khan, Jitendra Joshi and Amole Gupte in key roles.
He also has a project backed by producer Dil Raju, directed by Vamshi Paidipally, and co-starring Nayanthara. Shooting for the film began on April 19.
