A fan shared a montage of all the beautiful moments of Thalapathy Vijay signing off which appears towards the end of the film Jana Nayagan.

After watching the first-day-first show of Vikay's Jana Nayagan, producer Venkat K Narayana shared his views on the film. While talking to PTI after watching the movie, he said, "We have released in largest number of screens across the country and the movie belongs to the people. We look forward to their love and support. Narayana watched the film at Vettri Theatre in Chromepet.

A reputed company has shut its services today from 8 am to 12 pm so that the employees can go and watch Vijay's latest release, Jana Nayagan. A circular issued by the company has gone viral.

According to a report by News18, director H. Vinoth reportedly earned Rs 25 crore for Jana Nayagan, making it the highest remuneration of his career. The filmmaker, known for his action entertainers, is also said to have spent several years developing the project before it finally went on floors. Music composer Anirudh Ravichander, whose chart-topping work in films like Leo and Jailer has been widely celebrated, reportedly charged Rs 13 crore for the film’s soundtrack and background score.

Pooja Hegde is reported to have received Rs 6 crore for the film, while Bobby Deol, who plays the primary antagonist, reportedly earned between Rs 5 crore and Rs 10 crore.

Jana Nayagan serves as the curtain call to Thalapathy Vijay’s three-decade-long film career before his transition into politics and swearing-in as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. According to multiple reports, Vijay was paid between Rs 220 crore and Rs 275 crore for the film, a figure that could make it one of the highest pay cheques ever earned by an Indian actor. While the exact remuneration remains unconfirmed, the reported amount underscores the scale and significance of the project, which has been positioned as Vijay’s final big-screen outing.

Music composer Anirudh Ravichander recreated Vijay’s iconic Mersal pose during the Jana Nayagan first-day-first-show celebrations. The gesture instantly became a fan-favourite moment, with the crowd erupting in loud cheers.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, actor Bobby Deol spoke about sharing screen space with Vijay in Jana Nayagan. Although he admitted that he had limited interaction with his co-star, he described Vijay as “a very simple man, very quiet, and very much to himself,” despite being one of the biggest stars. The actor also spoke about the language barrier on set, revealing that while he often couldn't understand the conversations around him, director H. Vinoth was always there to help him.

During the conversation, Bobby also revealed that Jana Nayagan was filmed largely on studio sets due to Vijay’s unmatched stardom. Explaining the decision, he said, “It’s a fact. No work will happen if you take him on the street. He’s that big.”

According to IndiaToday.in's review, "Jana Nayagan is heavily inspired from Bhagavanth Kesari. It wants to be a tribute to Thalapathy Vijay and a political statement in the same breath, and the seams show throughout. Even with the censor board muting most of the direct Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) references and the sharper party call-outs softened, what's left on screen is still a film more interested in championing Vijay as a considerate politician and an alternate option that Tamil Nadu badly needed, rather than in telling a story."

Filmmaker Ajay R. Gnanamuthu shared a heartfelt post on X, thanking director H Vinoth for delivering what he called a brilliant film to mark Vijay's final journey in cinema.

"This truly feels like the end of an era!! Cinema will miss its most celebrated star, the most entertaining actor, the mostttt loved human as a son/brother. Thank you for all your films, for all the memories and for entertaining us all these decades Thalaivaa. This era that you lived and ruled in cinema will stay with us forever!! According to trade website Sacnilk, Jana Nayagan has earned an estimated Rs 5.12 crore nett at the Indian box office in its early Day 1 run as of 10:30 am. The Vijay-starrer is currently playing across 3,068 shows nationwide, with collections expected to witness a sharp jump as evening and night shows get underway. So far, the film has grossed an estimated Rs 6.04 crore in India, while its final Day 1 box office figures are yet to be announced.
