Peddi advance booking: Ram Charan's sports drama earns Rs 35 crore globally
Ram Charan's Peddi has grossed Rs 35 crore worldwide in advance sales before its June 4 release. The early trend highlights strong Telugu market support as the film faces a key test beyond its core base.

Ram Charan's Peddi has made a strong start in advance booking ahead of its release on June 4, with paid premieres scheduled on selected screens on June 3. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film collected Rs 9.82 crore in the initial days of advance booking without block bookings.
With block bookings, the figure stood at Rs 16.66 crore by Wednesday afternoon. Worldwide, the film has collected Rs 35 crore gross in advance sales.
The early numbers point to solid interest, led mainly by the Telugu market. At the same time, the film is being closely watched as an important release for Ram Charan after the disappointing performance of Game Changer. Trade circles are also tracking whether Peddi can move beyond its core markets and emerge as a wider pan-India success.
Sacnilk's data shows that the Telugu version is driving the film's pre-release business. Peddi has 4,757 shows in Telugu and 2,785 shows in Hindi. The Tamil version has 557 shows, while the Kannada version has 157 shows. The film will also have 150 shows in Malayalam.
So far, nearly four lakh tickets, or 3,90,036, have been sold for the Telugu version. The Hindi version has sold more than 10,198 tickets. The film has recorded its highest occupancy in Andaman and Nicobar Islands at 57 per cent, followed by Andhra Pradesh at 33 per cent and Telangana at 29 per cent.
Release build-up and market response
Months of anticipation have built around Peddi, a sports action drama directed by Buchi Babu Sana. The film stars Ram Charan, Janhvi Kapoor, Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu and Divyendu Sharma. Early trade estimates have suggested that the film could gross Rs 100 crore globally on its opening day, helped by strong business in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, paid premiere shows and overseas sales.
Trade analyst Ramesh Bala told India Today Digital that the current buzz is strongest in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, with Karnataka also showing encouraging signs. He said the response in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and the North belt remains low for now. He also noted that advance bookings opened late in several territories, which affected the initial sales picture.
The overseas market has offered further support. Peddi's premiere sales in the United States are nearing the $8,00,000 mark, while overall advance sales across North America have crossed $8,82,000. Bala said the film's opening may be powered by the Telugu market, but its longer run will depend on audience response and word-of-mouth.
