With its fourth-day earnings, Peddi has taken its domestic nett collection to around Rs 157.15 crore. The film's India gross now stands at approximately Rs 187.02 crore.

International markets have also contributed significantly to its performance. Peddi has collected nearly Rs 46 crore overseas, helping the film comfortably cross the Rs 233-crore mark worldwide.

The reported figures are based on industry estimates and may be revised once official studio numbers and additional overseas market reports are finalised.

What is driving Peddi's box office performance?

The Telugu version remains the film's strongest revenue source. Day 4 occupancy trends showed particularly robust attendance during evening and night shows, helping the film register growth over the weekend.

The sustained audience turnout suggests that Peddi continues to benefit from strong word of mouth across key Telugu-speaking markets, while also maintaining momentum in international territories.

Why is Peddi also making headlines beyond the box office?

Alongside its commercial success, Peddi has become part of a broader industry conversation surrounding the portrayal of Janhvi Kapoor's character Achiyamma in the film.

The debate around the objectification of women in cinema resurfaced after viewers pointed to the hypersexualised depiction of Janhvi Kapoor’s character in the recent release.

Much of the criticism focused on the manner in which Achiyyamma is introduced and how her relationship with the protagonist unfolds on screen. In her introductory scene, the camera remains fixed on different parts of her body for an extended period before eventually revealing her face.

Actor Nithya Menen recently weighed in on discussions around on-screen representation. While clarifying that she had not watched Peddi, she told Variety India that actors should be able to establish boundaries if they feel uncomfortable with scenes they perceive as objectifying.

About Peddi

Set against the backdrop of rural Andhra Pradesh, Peddi chronicles the journey of its central character, portrayed by Ram Charan, as he turns to sport to forge a sense of identity for both himself and his community. Cricket, kushti (traditional wrestling) and sprinting play a significant role in driving the narrative forward.

Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, the film is backed by Venkata Satish Kilaru under the banner of Vriddhi Cinemas. The cast also includes Janhvi Kapoor, Shiva Rajkumar and Jagapathi Babu in key roles. Released across 3,000 screens, Peddi generated considerable buzz ahead of its debut, with strong advance bookings helping pave the way for an impressive theatrical run.

The film arrived in cinemas on June 4.
