Ram Charan congratulates Tamil Nadu CM Vijay: You left stardom, career at peak
Actor Ram Charan congratulated actor-turned-politician Vijay on becoming the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, calling it a proud moment for the film industry and the people of Tamil Nadu. He said Vijay had stepped away from stardom and his career at its peak.

Actor Ram Charan on Saturday congratulated actor-turned-politician Vijay on becoming the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. He made the remarks at an event held to promote his upcoming film Peddi, where he spoke about Vijay’s move from cinema to public life.
Addressing the gathering, Charan said Vijay had stepped away from his career at its peak to enter public service. He said he was proud of him as someone from the film industry and also congratulated the people of Tamil Nadu.

Speaking on stage, Ram Charan said, “You have left your stardom and career at your peak to come into public service. From being a film industry person, I'm very very proud, and I congratulate Tamil Nadu people and Vijay sir.”
At the event, he was dressed in a powder blue suit with a white shirt and brown shoes. He kept his hair tied in a bun and wore sunglasses.

Earlier, Charan had also congratulated Vijay on X. In his post, he wrote, “Hearty congratulations to @actorvijay Garu on a remarkable victory in the TN elections. Your vision and connect with the people have truly resonated. Wishing you great success in leading Tamil Nadu towards continued progress (sic).”

In an interview with India Today’s Suyesha Savant, the actor recently said he felt fortunate to play a character that represents people who are unheard and who need both a voice and recognition. He said playing such a role was necessary in a country like India and added that he felt proud to have found the part.
He described Peddi as the most difficult character he has played and said getting into the skin of the role was interesting. Charan said he learnt a great deal during the film’s journey and felt he had improved his game as an actor. He added that the experience was satisfying not only as an actor but also as a person.
Charan also revealed that he suffered a wrist injury three or four days before the team was to shoot a wrestling sequence. The actor said, “It was one tear, but now it's seven tears because of the 20 days of shoot. I just had to get through the film and wanted it to come on June 4.”
Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, Peddi also stars Janhvi Kapoor, Boman Irani and Divyenndu. The Telugu sports drama is set to release in theatres on June 4.
Meanwhile, the release date of Vijay's last film Jana Nayagan is yet to be announced.
