Samantha's Maa Inti Bangaaram sequel is on, confirms writer Raj Nidimoru

Samantha Ruth Prabhu's Maa Inti Bangaaram is set to return with a sequel, writer Raj Nidimoru announced during the film's success meet in Vizag. The announcement comes after the Nandini Reddy directorial emerged as the highest-grossing women-led film and received widespread praise.

Raj Nidimoru announced a sequel to Samantha's Maa Inti Bangaaram.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu's Maa Inti Bangaaram is officially getting a sequel. Following the film's successful run at the box office and the praise it received for its story and Samantha's performance, the makers held a grand success meet in Vizag. During the event, the actor's husband and writer Raj Nidimoru surprised fans by confirming that a sequel is in the works.

Raj first asked the audience if they wanted to see the story continue. As the crowd responded with loud cheers, he made the announcement.

"I already have an idea in my mind. The same team will work on it. For the first time, I am inspired to make another part. It will have double the fun and double the excitement. I will come back and tell you more about it later," he said in Telugu.

Raj also reflected on the response to Maa Inti Bangaaram, saying the film had earned him greater appreciation than some of his earlier blockbuster projects, including Stree and The Family Man, because it had "hit home."

Directed by Nandini Reddy, Maa Inti Bangaaram stars Samantha Ruth Prabhu alongside Gulshan Devaiah, Sreemukhi and Diganth Manchale. Produced by Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Raj Nidimoru and Himanshu under the Tra La La Pictures banner, the film has emerged as the highest-grossing women-led film. It collected around Rs 35 crore at the domestic box office in its first week and crossed Rs 50 crore worldwide.

Set in the 1980s, the story follows Swarna, played by Samantha, who marries a doctor against his family's wishes. Although she initially struggles to gain acceptance from her in-laws, she gradually wins them over before her past returns to disrupt her new life.

Maa Inti Bangaaram marks Samantha's return to the big screen after a long gap. The actor recently announced her pregnancy and shared that she would be taking a maternity break. Samantha married Raj Nidimoru at the Isha Yoga Centre in Coimbatore in December.

The couple has previously collaborated on The Family Man Season 2, Citadel: Honey Bunny, Subham, and now Maa Inti Bangaaram.
