Actor Yash's upcoming film Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups has finally locked a new release date after undergoing multiple postponements. The film is now set to release in theatres on August 26, 2026. The makers announced the news with a fresh poster.
The release was previously delayed due to concerns surrounding its overseas rollout amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.
Yash announced the released date on X and wrote, "Honour Thy Father... #Toxic In Cinemas Worldwide from 26-08-2026 (sic)."
Delays in Toxic release
The film's release journey has seen several changes over the past few months. In December 2025, the makers had announced March 19, 2026, as the release date, setting up a major box-office clash with Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar: The Revenge.
However, those plans were later altered after tensions in the Middle East escalated, affecting the film's overseas release prospects.
On March 4, the film's production house announced that Toxic would shift from March 19 to June 4, citing the impact of the regional shutdown on international distribution.
The film was subsequently delayed beyond June 4 as well. The makers have now confirmed August 26, 2026, as the final release date.
Apart from headlining the project, Yash is also credited as a writer and producer, underscoring his significant creative involvement in the film.
Directed by Geetu Mohandas and backed by KVN Productions, Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups features an ensemble cast including Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth.
