Toxic promo X review: Internet slams Yash's objectification of 'Ladies & Ladies'
The new Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups promo, Ladies & Ladies, has sparked reactions on X, with several users criticising its portrayal of women. Many also questioned why the film's female stars had only brief appearances despite the promo's title.

The makers of Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups released the new promo, Ladies & Ladies, on Wednesday (July 1), putting the spotlight on the film's female characters. However, instead of generating excitement, the promo has drawn criticism from a section of social media users, who accused it of objectifying women and giving its leading ladies little to do despite centring the promo around them.
The promo features Yash alongside Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasanth and Huma Qureshi. Soon after its release, several users on X expressed their disappointment.
One user commented, "rocking star yash avoided clash wt dhurandhar2, only to come up wt THIS? r u giving a ladies dedicated teaser or plain objectifying them..and worst, giving them silliest dialogues to show gals dyin to d**kride yash? Is it too much to ask for another main vaapas aaunga lol? #Toxic (sic)."
Another user wrote, "The name of the teaser is Ladies & Ladies, but all the female actresses have a blink-and-miss appearance, WOW (sic)!"
Another one wrote, "There's male gaze. And then there's the latest #Toxic teaser. That last scene... It's actually disturbing that someone actually wrote it, it was cleared and was even shot (sic)!"
Another user commented, "Ladies & Ladies teaser feels more like unnesessary negativity uncomfortable than entertainment. The vibe is forced, the conflict looks exaggerated, and the BGM feels avg, teaser fails to create excitement. Hoping the movie has something better to offer. #ToxicTheMovie (sic)."
Another wrote, "After Animal this South industry are trying hard to make every movie with sex & violence but every time they failed. #Toxic teaser is 100% cringe stuff (sic)."
Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups stars Yash alongside Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasanth and Huma Qureshi.
The film has been shot simultaneously in Kannada and English and will also release in dubbed versions in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam.
Backed by KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on August 26, 2026.
