Congress protests outside PM house, youngsters at Jantar Mantar as NEET stir widens

A report details protests across Delhi, including a Congress sit-in outside the Prime Minister’s residence, youth demonstrations at Jantar Mantar, and farmer rallies at the capital borders. Congress Members of Parliament staged a sit-in using strings as handcuffs to prepare for detention. The lawmakers presented five demands regarding the NEET examination paper leak controversy.

The demands include the resignation of the education minister, a parliamentary discussion, compensation, a statement by the home minister, and an inquiry into the use of police lathi charges, tear gas, and water cannons against demonstrators. A Minister of State from the Prime Minister’s Office conducted two rounds of talks with the Leader of the Opposition and the Home Minister, but the dialogue yielded no resolution, indicating the sit-in could continue overnight.

Delhi Police and Rapid Action Force personnel maintained deployment without removing the Congress leadership. Furthermore, the Aam Aadmi Party stated that the Congress demonstration diverted attention from the youth protests occurring at Jantar Mantar.
