NEET retest: Govt bans Telegram app till June 22; IAF officer's wife alleges rape, conversion in Nagpur

The Central government has temporarily blocked the messaging app Telegram till June 22 and ordered Apple and Google to delist it ahead of the NEET re-examination on June 21. The National Testing Agency initiated the block to prevent fake paper leak narratives, as cheating networks exploited Telegram's message editing feature. Meanwhile, in Nagpur, police arrested Ayaz Taj and Amin Sheikh for allegedly drugging, blackmailing, and forcing an IAF officer's wife to undergo religious conversion. In political developments, reports suggest twenty Trinamool Congress MPs in West Bengal may break away, while the Eknath Shinde faction claimed seven MPs from the Uddhav Thackeray camp are in contact. Additionally, the central government amended drug safety rules, mandating a doctor's prescription for all syrup-based medicines, including cough syrups, following international and domestic scrutiny over contaminated products.
