Republic Day 2026: Army to showcase Indigenous armour, anti-drone tech and more

In this special edition of India Today's Battle Cry, the focus is on the 2026 Republic Day Parade at Kartavya Path, highlighting India's growing military self-reliance. Major Hitesh Mehta, commanding the Armoured Corps Contingent, explains the latest field innovations, stating, 'We have got some field innovations this time on MBT Arjun to fight the current war phase that we are having and one of the innovations is a Cope Cage that is an anti-drone mechanism.'

The broadcast details the debut of the Bhairav Battalion and the Mixed Scouts, alongside the display of the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile, Akash air defence system, and the indigenous ATAGS artillery. A significant highlight is the 'Drone Shakti' initiative and the use of trained raptors for anti-drone operations.

The Indian Air Force flypast, dedicated to the veterans of Operation Sindhur, features a 29-aircraft display including Rafale and Su-30 MKI jets, symbolizing India's strategic deterrence and technological evolution in modern multi-domain warfare.
