Protesters reached within 50 metres of Parliament: The other side of July 20 stir

Delhi reportedly narrowly avoided a major security incident during the Cockroach Janata Party’s July 20 "Sansad Chalo" march, with CCTV footage reviewed by India Today showing protesters reaching within 50 metres of Parliament and clashing repeatedly with police despite heavy Delhi Police and RAF deployment.

Exclusive footage from near Rail Bhawan captured protesters creating a commotion around Parliament. Separately, Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a Cabinet Committee on Security meeting to assess the West Asia conflict’s impact on India’s strategic, energy and food security.

Officials said public sector refineries were operating above full capacity to maintain fuel and fertiliser stocks, while the Prime Minister ordered alternate fertiliser sourcing, protection of the Indian diaspora and monitoring of seafarers. Parliament also debated the Anti-Paper Leak Bill and Vande Mataram bill amid protests and political accusations.
