Political one-upmanship: Ravi Shankar Prasad slams Opposition protests against govt

BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad accused opposition parties of politicising the NEET paper leak issue for political gains instead of focusing on students' concerns. Speaking to India Today's Marya Shakeel on the Newstrack programme, he said examination paper leaks are driven by organised syndicates operating across the country and require coordinated action by both the Centre and state governments. Prasad cited past incidents in Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh to argue that the problem is not confined to any one government. He also criticised opposition leaders over political rivalry, saying such "one-upmanship" was evident and unhelpful in addressing students' concerns.

Earlier, Congress MPs wore black as the opposition seeks the Education Minister’s resignation, an apology from the Prime Minister, a debate on the examination issue and accountability for police action against students.
