Rahul Gandhi claims Amit Shah ordered firing on protesters, refuses to apologise

Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday escalated his attack on Union Home Minister Amit Shah, alleging at a press conference in New Delhi that he saw and heard Shah ordering the police to open fire on student protesters during the recent anti-NEET paper leak agitation in Delhi. Reiterating remarks made earlier in Parliament during the debate on the anti-paper leak Bill, Gandhi demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi sack the Home Minister. He said he would not apologise for his statement despite protests from NDA MPs and criticism from the government. Gandhi maintained that, as Leader of Opposition, he had the right to raise issues of national importance, including the alleged police action against protesting students.
