Tamil Nadu polls: NDA seals seat-sharing deal: Is BJP squeezed?

This episode of Super 6 examines the BJP's allocation of 27 out of 234 seats in the Tamil Nadu assembly elections, with significant questions emerging over the party's seat selection strategy. Despite achieving 11% vote share in 2024, the BJP has been allocated only one seat in Chennai—Mylapore—in an urban area where it showed growth. In Kanyakumari, four seats with large Christian populations have gone to the BJP, whilst the Kanyakumari seat itself was not allocated to them. In the Kongu belt, where the BJP believes it has strong chances, only five seats including Coimbatore North were given. Notably, Tirunelveli, held by Tamil Nadu BJP chief Nainar Nagendran for 25 years and won in 2021, has not been allocated to the party.
