The BJP on Wednesday strongly hit back at Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi over his Lok Sabha speech, accusing him of using unparliamentary language and making false allegations against Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Gandhi had claimed Shah ordered the use of pellet guns against student protesters and demanded his resignation and a Supreme Court-monitored probe. BJP leaders, including Union Minister Jitendra Singh, rejected the charge, saying operational decisions are taken by local authorities. BJP MP Sambit Patra mocked Gandhi for refusing to apologise, saying he "apologises only in court". The Lok Sabha later passed the Anti-Paper Leak Bill by voice vote.
