IT Ministry sends notices to Telegram, Signal; Iran prepares for Khamenei's funeral; more

The Ministry of Electronics and IT has issued notices to messaging platforms Telegram and Signal, seeking clarification on their username features to prevent impersonation and identity misuse. This follows a similar notice sent to WhatsApp, amid concerns over fake NEET papers and misleading content on Telegram. Meanwhile, Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi is on a three-day maiden visit to India, bolstering the India-Japan special strategic and global partnership. During the 16th India-Japan Annual Summit, PM Takaichi and Prime Minister Narendra Modi discussed economic, defense, and maritime cooperation, with Japan pledging a 68 billion dollar investment in India over the next decade. In other global news, the US and Iran held indirect technical talks in Doha, focusing on the release of frozen Iranian assets and denuclearization progress. Concurrently, Iran is preparing for a grand funeral for late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was killed in US-Israeli strikes in February. An Indian delegation, including Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margherita, will attend the solemn ceremony in Tehran.
